Renovation

Ben Teague & Associates has experience, trained and certified building inspectors who can perform asbestos inspections and building assessments, sample suspect ACM (asbestos containing material) for property owners or contractors who are ready to conduct home and/or building renovations.

Federal and State laws require property owners to hire a certified asbestos consultant to assess, inspect and sample suspect materials prior to removal. All samples must, according to regulations be analysed by an accredited laboratory for the presence of asbestos.

The following pictures illustrate areas where suspected materials such as sheetrock, wall surfacing texture, tape and bed joint compound, and kitchen sheet vinyl floor coverings materials, insulation fiber board, etc. were removed prior to a kitchen renovation and addition. Most property owners and contractors don't realize that these materials MUST be tested and cleared for asbestos PRIOR to renovation activities. This is the LAW in all 50 states and is applicable to any home or building regardless of the age. YES, even NEWLY constructed buildings must be inspected prior to renovation activities....
